Born 2002, Fukushima

I feel that I want air, so that we can be inside the painting. With color fields and lines I create gaps and let the air through.
There is wavering there, and also a tension over whether it will pass through or not. I also feel that, for the sake of the colors and forms, I want to place them in a better, more captivating state. Captivating things sometimes carry a certain danger and are unstable. That is why I paint forms that undulate and keep changing. I love the hardness (bone) and softness (flesh) that living things possess at the same time. It is the hard stem and the petals of a plant, or the rhythm of the stops, flicks, and sweeps of written characters; hardness is the “rivet” that holds softness in place so that it does not flow away. I want hardness and softness to live together in my paintings.
Born 2002, Fukushima. In 2025, completed studies at Musashino Art University, College of Art and Design, Department of Painting, Oil Painting Course.
