From Okinawa
The familiar flora and fauna I have seen in Okinawa, where I was born and raised: the paper kite butterfly, the blue glassy tiger, croton, bougainvillea. Along the streets and at tourist sites, vivid tropical and subtropical plants bloom all year round. Within “nature that exists” and “nature that has been made,” I paint by combining the landscapes and motifs that meet my eyes.
2017 Completed the doctoral program (Nihonga) in Arts and Culture, Graduate School, Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts.
