Thinking of a bright future, I record scenes of the everyday life I love. My thoughts and wishes dwell in those photographs, which are thereby transformed into spirit. By sealing a photograph inside a glass bottle, the bottle becomes a body that protects the spirit in place of my own flesh. This new body becomes a message in a bottle, carrying my thoughts and wishes in my place. When the bottle is unearthed in the distant future, I hope it will act like a time capsule, prompting memories of everyday life from this time and of forgotten feelings, and perhaps offering someone solace. With that wish, I leave behind a double of myself.
