About the work

She puts candy in her mouth in a world of vivid pink and purple. Her identity is not fixed to a single thing; only when the viewer’s gaze is added is she completed as “a single personality.” Behind the catchy visual lies a deep philosophy that unsettles reproduction culture and the value of art. A work in which the distinctive texture of hand-painting and a contemporary symbolic quality melt into one.
