I painted a pigeon and a fly as creatures that symbolize life in the city. The drawing began with photographs of a pigeon and a fly that I took myself. From there, I painted while shifting elements little by little to blur the line between reality and imagination: the pigeon’s shadow became strangely distorted, and the fly’s head turned cicada-like. The subtitle text was sampled from the 1987 film Doraemon: Nobita and the Knights on Dinosaurs.
