芝浦デイドリーム

At 2.4 meters wide, this is the largest easel painting I have made so far. It depicts the “vision of a giant pink snowy mountain” that appeared to me during a planning meeting for this solo exhibition: I had walked from Tamachi Station to BREAD&ESPRESSO&, taken my seat, and finally let out a sigh of relief. Just as the contrast in feel between the city and this shop pulled me into a daydream, I made this work hoping that, installed in the café and larger than a human body, it would envelop viewers and evoke that same daydream-like sensation. The subtitle text was sampled from the 2005 film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
