As I sat in the passenger seat on an expressway, a row of about ten dead trees, each crowded with countless black birds, flowed past the car window. They were clearly not crows. They had long necks like cormorants, and I had never seen such birds before. The scene was gone before I could even point it out to the driver, and no one can confirm whether it was real or a dream. It was somewhere around Ichikawa in Chiba. The subtitle text was sampled from the 2005 film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
